Your primary physician has referred you or your loved one to a "Vascular consultation". It is important to understand what is a vascular surgeon and what is going to happen. In Canada a vascular surgeon is a surgeon specialized in vascular disease (any disease involving a blood vessel, whether is an artery or vein, or a lymphatic). We are trained to offer complete assessment, diagnosis and treatment. That goes beyond surgery. It involves patient counselling, medical management, minimally invasive treatment with laser or glue for varicose veins, balloon angioplasty, stents all the way to surgical reconstruction for occlusive arterial disease, aneurysm and stroke.

Your doctor has likely sent all testes related to the problem being assessed. Sometimes, new tests are required and our office will coordinate with your doctor's office to arrange them ahead of time. We understand how difficult is to coordinate the appointment and we try to accommodate your needs with the clinic schedule to reduce the stress. Duplex ultrasound appointments and office visits can be arranged together. However these can be very tiring for elderly patients or patient with severe disabilities. Please contact our office.
