DR. CHRISTIANE WERNECK
MD, MScCH, RPVI, RVT
Dr. Werneck is a vascular surgeon who originally trained and practiced as a Cardiovascular Surgeon in Brazil. She has a fellowship in Vascular Ultrasonography , a fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University of Toronto and trained in Advanced Aortic Endovascular Surgery in Lille, France.Â
She has been on staff at Trillium Health Partners (THP) since 2008 and is currently the Division Head of Vascular Surgery and Director of the Vascular Laboratories at THP.
She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery and completed a Master’s of Science in Community Health with emphasis in Education along with 2 other certifications as Educator from the Centre for Faculty Development, at the University of Toronto.
She is certified to perform and interpret vascular ultrasound by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
She is an active member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, International Society of Vascular Surgery, Canadian Society of Vascular Surgery and American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. She is also a reviewer for the Annals of Vascular Surgery Journal.
ODETTE DE SOUZA
Registered Nurse
Odette is a Registered Nurse with more than 40 years of experience in surgical patients and chronic wounds. She had several roles as Nurse at Trillium Health Partners and recently has retired as Nurse Manager at the Surgical ward after 43 years of practice. She continues to care deeply for patients with chronic wounds and complex vascular problems and has been a great asset to the team.
STEPHANIEÂ REID
Office Assistant
Stephanie has been actively working in the medical field for over 24 years, having been formally trained in Medical Administration. She began her career in family practice and transitioned to working with Dr. Werneck in 2009, where she has acquired vast knowledge in all areas of Vascular Specialty. Stephanie has a keen interest in the welfare of patients and takes pride in using her knowledge to assist patients with ongoing management and care.
OUR CLINIC
As the heart of W Vascular Institute, our passionate team is dedicated to provide you with the highest level of medical care. We recently have relocated the clinic to provide a calm and comfortable environment to ensure your experience and treatments are handled in the most efficient way.
We are a State-Of-The-Art Independent Health Facility Accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Health and The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). We undergo regular inspections by the CPSO to assess our standards of care. We are able to perform safely most of the venous procedures currently available for the treatment of varicose veins under local anesthetic.
We are accredited as official training site for Venous Procedures, particularly for RFA and Venaseal.
